In My Neighborhood

We live in a great house,
on a great street,
in a great neighborhood.
Nothing fancy but comfortable.
I feel safe here and welcome.
We have the best neighbors
Everyone likes each other
we look out for each other
feed each others dogs
pick up the newspaper
we laugh together
share meals together
cry together
I really could not ask for better friends and neighbors.
I am blessed
This is the way we are meant to live
the one-anothers
caring, sharing, watching out for each other
I am blessed
All of this is a gift
This house
The people that live around us.
Those that know and love the living God and those that don't.
I am thankful for the things I continue to learn by living here on Boston St.

Being salt and light is not always easy
but we try to be an example of Christ's love
we try to be available to speak truth
we show with our hands and our feet what it means to love your neighbor.

I have come to trust my neighbors here on Boston St.
I know they will watch out for our kids when we are gone.

We have learned that taking the time to invest in others that live around us
is living in light of the Gospel.
I am so glad that we did.
Throughout scripture God addresses how we are to treat our neighbors.
It is important to God
It should be important to me as well
Living in harmony with those that live around me is one of the many ways
that I work out my faith in The Living God.
I know that where ever I go,
I will continue to have opportunity to be a good neighbor

Boston St. has been a wonderful place
to see these following verses come alive:

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
Proverbs 3:29
Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you.
These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another;
render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them,
for this is the Law and the Prophets
Mark 12:31
The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
Romans 13:10
Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
Galatians 6:10
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone,
and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
James 2:8
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture,
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

Do you know what major city Mr. Rogers Neighborhood was based on?
There is a prize for the first person who gets it right!
